I'm Nikki !
I am a 200hr certified Yin & Hatha Yang yoga instructor and a Registered Kinesiologist. I teach private 1:1 and group classes, along with an interest in hosting workshops and retreats.
My mission is to teach everyone how to listen to their body, strengthen their relationship with the mind & deepen their connect to Self, to allow for the true healing within.
I have always had an interest in the way that the body can heal itself. Even as a child, I was fascinated with how a cut on your body can heal and grow new skin. This started my journey to learn the body in the way of biomechanics, exercise physiology, injury prevention, and recovery. What an intriguing unit we have to physically carry us through this life, am I right ?!
Yoga took it another leap further.
Over the years, since taking my first class in 2013, my interest in yoga has profoundly evolved from the endless physical benefits, to the healing of the mind-body-soul as a whole. The overall well-being of one physical body is much more intricate than we tend to give it credit for. Although we are all the same in human form, our unique life experiences directly impact the health of our individual Self - work demands (physical & mental), exercise, diet, lifestyle, relationships, mindset etc. Yoga allows for you to turn inwards & feel the rhythm of your own breath, listen to the whispers of your unique body & create a sense of safety within.
I believe the true way to healing is through finding harmony & balance among all aspects of life. In order to work towards our greatest achievements, we must replenish ourselves with enough rest; in order feel enjoyment & love in life, we must understand the feeling of loss & grief; too much rigidity without enough give or malleability can cause stress or rupture; whereas too little structure or foundation can cause loss of direction.
I like to absorb this mentality when approaching exercise and the physical body. Considering we are cyclical in nature, along with the modern day lives we live, I believe the there is not one "right way" to train, but rather creating the right way for you. Through 1:1 coaching with me, we will be able to craft the ultimate plan that not only reaches your own personal goals of the mind-body-soul, but strategically in a way that creates a sense of safety and equilibrium within your life.
